We have not appointed a data protection officer. Two people and a yard do not need one, and the law does not make us.
This site has no contact form, no account area and no basket. Reading the pages leaves us nothing at all.
Details arrive when you get in touch: your name, a phone number or email address, the address of the property, and usually two or three photographs of the floor. We do not ask how you found us, we do not ask your budget, and we do not keep a note of what you said about your builder.
To answer the enquiry, price the job, order stone and turn up on the right day. That is necessary for a contract or for the steps before one, under Article 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR.
Invoices and delivery notes are kept because HMRC requires it, which is the legal obligation ground at Article 6(1)(c).
The bookkeeper who does the quarterly return. The haulier, if stone is going out on a pallet, who gets the delivery address and a phone number and nothing else. The company that hosts this site, which keeps technical logs of visits.
We do not sell or swap customer lists, and no marketing company has ever had one from us. Nothing is transferred outside the UK or the EEA.
Emails and the notes written on the back of quote sheets go after two years from the last contact, unless the job is still open. Invoices stay six years, as the tax rules require.
The yard diary is paper and lives in the office. If you want your name out of that too, say so and it gets crossed out.
A copy of what we hold, a correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, under Articles 15 to 22. An email is enough and we answer within a month. We do not ask for identity documents when the request comes from the address you first wrote from.
If the answer does not satisfy you, the Information Commissioner's Office at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow SK9 5AF takes complaints.
